Petronas Gas Berhad operates as a gas infrastructure and utilities company in Malaysia. The company engages in separating natural gas into components; and storing, transporting, distributing, and selling such components to industrial utilities. It operates through four segments: Gas Processing, Gas Transportation, Utilities, and Regasification. The Gas Processing segment processes natural gas from gas fields offshore the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia into sales gas and other by-products, such as ethane, propane, and butane. This segment operates six processing plants in Terengganu. The Gas Transportation segment manages the gas transmission pipelines that cover the Peninsular Gas Utilisation (PGU) pipeline network, as well as transports the sales gas through a 2,521 kilometers PGU pipeline. This segment also transports small volumes of sales gas through its gas distribution system in Miri and Bintulu, and Sarawak, as well as manages the gas pipeline in Kimanis and Sabah; and exports its products to Singapore. The Utilities segment manufactures, markets, and supplies industrial utilities, including electricity, steam, and industrial gases, as well as other by-products, such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, demineralized water, raw water, cooling water, and boiler feed water to the petrochemical complexes in the Kertih and Gebeng industrial areas. The Regasification segment engages in the regasification of liquefied natural gas. This segment operates and maintains offshore liquefied natural gas regasification terminal in Sungai Udang, Melaka. The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Petronas Gas Berhad is a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad.

Linde Malaysia Sdn Bhd Establishes Joint Venture Company with Petronas Gas Berhad to Build Industrial Air Gas Facility

Linde Malaysia Sdn Bhd announced that it has established a joint venture company with PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB) to build a industrial air gas facility that will produce gaseous oxygen and nitrogen to supply the needs of PETRONAS' world-scale Refinery and Petrochemicals Integrated Complex (RAPID), within the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) in southern Malaysia. Linde and PETRONAS' joint venture company, Pengerang Gas Solution Sdn Bhd (PGS), has also secured long-term agreements for the supply of oxygen and nitrogen to the world-scale refinery and petrochemical complex which includes an ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol plant. PGS will build two large air separation units and associated gas facilities resulting in a total investment of EUR 150 million.

Petronas Gas Berhad Executes Shareholders Agreement for Joint Venture with Linde Malaysia Sdn. Bhd

Petronas Gas Berhad has executed a shareholders agreement for a joint venture with Linde Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. to undertake the development of an air separation unit plant in Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia. Petronas Gas will hold a 51% stake in the JV, with its portion of the cost to be an estimated $88 million, while Linde will hold the remaining 49% stake. Both the companies are expected to fund the JV through a combination of equity and debt.
