Rate Profile Information for FDTR

At the Dec. 16th, 2008 meeting the Federal Reserve cut the main U.S. interest rate to "a target range" between zero and 0.25. Daily indications of the Federal Funds Rate expected to be consistent with the degree of reserve pressure. During the period of October 19, 1987 through November 3, 1987 there was no formal expected Federal Funds Rate indicated. Annualized based on a 360 day year. Please note that data prior to 1985 consists of time estimates of when rate changes occurred. Since the Federal Reserve Bank of New York use date ranges e.g. late-January to mid-April, we have used the start point to show change historically. For IMF US Federal Funds Rate with history going back to 1956, see {1116586 Index }
