This election season, however, has brought digital heckling to new heights as political satire is crowdsourced in real time like never before. Sure, the 2008 presidential election had Obama Girl, #joetheplumber, #lipstickonapig. Now, more tweets are sent every two days than all the tweets combined before Election Day 2008, according to Twitter.
