The Syrian army has shelled rebel-held cities in the past week, forcing the ill-equipped Free Syria Army fighters to retreat. Photographer Sebastiano Tomada spent some time with one of these groups, made up mostly of Syrian army defectors, as they camp in a makeshift army outpost in the mountains north of Idlib, Syria. More than 9,000 people have been killed since the government crackdown started a year ago.
