It’s been a year since the US Supreme Court decided Dobbs v. Jackson, overturning Roe v. Wade and allowing states to ban abortion. In the court’s ruling last June, Justice Samuel Alito wrote, “It is time to heed the Constitution, and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.” One year later, how is all that “democratic self-government” going?
