It’s been a week. FDA Commissioner Marty Makary resigned, after clear signs from the White House that his days were numbered. Biotech companies, and some agency staff, cheered the move. This leaves three major US roles — the heads of the FDA and CDC along with the Surgeon General — officially unfilled.
