Russia LNG Ship Halts in Mediterranean After Other Attacked

A Russian liquefied natural gas tanker sanctioned by the US halted its journey in the Mediterranean Sea after a nearby ship was allegedly attacked by Ukrainian drone boats.

Arctic Pioneer, a Russian-flagged tanker that has been used to ferry fuel from the US-sanctioned Arctic LNG project, has been idling near Egypt’s Port Said since March 3, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg. That is around the time the Arctic Metagaz, also known for carrying blacklisted Russian LNG, was targeted by Ukraine in the same waters, according to Moscow.
