Hong Kong Airport Halts Flights on Tuesday as Typhoon Looms

Hong Kong International Airport will halt flights starting Tuesday as the Asian financial hub braces for one of its strongest super typhoons in years.

Flag carrier Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. said all flights arriving and departing from Hong Kong will be canceled from 6 p.m. local time on Sept. 23 through 6 a.m. on Sept. 25 as Super Typhoon Ragasa bears down, according to a statement on Monday. Bloomberg News had earlier reported on the 36-hour suspension of service.
