Vodafone Shares Plunge as German Client Losses Accelerate
Vodafone Group Plc shares fell the most in three years after the telecommunications operator lost clients in its key German market last quarter due to intense competition and a push to boost revenue per user.
The company shed 77,000 mobile contract clients in Germany in the fourth quarter ending in March, bringing the yearly decline to 103,000, the Newbury, England-based carrier said in a report Tuesday. It lost 90,000 broadband customers in the country last quarter.
