Sweetgreen Posts Steepest Sales Decline Since the Pandemic

Sweetgreen Inc. sales fell more than expected in the first quarter, underscoring the salad chain’s struggles to regain its footing following a series of missteps.

Same-store sales fell nearly 13% in the period, missing the average estimate of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. It was the fifth consecutive decline for the measure, and the biggest since the pandemic.
