Venezuela’s armed forces vowed allegiance to President Nicolas Maduro as the opposition-controlled National Assembly on Tuesday debated the constitutionality of his rule.
Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez, in a rare televised address, accused congress of trying to promote instability and said the country’s armed forces would uphold the rule of law in the South American country.
