Lord’s Resistance Army Kidnaps 29 in Central African Republic

Rebels from the Lord’s Resistance Army kidnapped 29 people from two villages in Central African Republic this week, according to a local government official.

Seventeen people, including three boys, were abducted June 12 after LRA rebels stormed into Kadjema and ransacked all its houses, village chief Gerard Dembanou said by phone on Wednesday from the nation’s eastern region. “They used those they kidnapped to carry their booty.”
