Twenty people have been detained in China after the state-backed Wujie News website published a letter calling on President Xi Jinping to resign, the British Broadcasting Corp. reported Friday.

Citing a staff member at Wujie News who asked to remain anonymous, the BBC said 16 people had been taken away, including six who work at the website and 10 who work for a “related technology company.” Chinese dissident Wen Yunchao told the BBC his parents and his brother had also been detained in connection with the letter.
