Spain Plans First Auction for Renewable Energy in Three Years

Spain announced that its first auction for renewables in three years will take place on Jan. 14.
Developers may bid to install 500 megawatts of wind energy and 200 megawatts of biomass, the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism said in an e-mailed statement. The wood-burning plants will be located on the Iberian peninsula.
