Neiman Marcus Group Inc. extended its Black Friday sales promotion again after the department-store chain’s website crashed on Friday and Saturday.
The Dallas-based company, which had previously pushed back the sale until Saturday evening, will now offer its 33 percent Black Friday discounts through 12 p.m. Central Time on Sunday.
The move followed technical glitches that kept Neiman Marcus’s website offline for much of the weekend. The company noted on its Twitter feed Saturday morning that the site was up and running, but by that afternoon it was down again.
The outage brought a black eye to the upscale retailer during one of the busiest times of the year. About 135.8 million Americans were expected to shop in stores or online over the four-day Black Friday weekend, according to the National Retail Federation.
