Poland’s Law & Justice party, set to take power after winning last month’s election, criticized European Union President Donald Tusk on Friday for calling an informal summit of EU leaders next week at a crucial time in Polish politics.

Leaders from the bloc’s 28 member states will meet in Valletta, Malta, on Nov. 12 to discuss cooperation with Turkey and reinforcing borders to stop the flow of refugees, Tusk, a former Polish prime minister, said on Tuesday. That’s the same day that Poland’s newly elected parliament will hold its first sitting, according to a decree by President Andrzej Duda, which came two days after Tusk’s summit announcement.
