BP Plc plans to start output from a new natural gas discovery in Egypt in 2018 and double its production from the country by the end of the decade.
The company will develop the Atoll offshore field with two initial wells connected to existing infrastructure, BP said in an e-mailed statement Thursday. It will invest more in a second phase of the project and drill additional wells to raise output later.
