Gazprom Complains Banks Delaying Payments Amid Sanctions Regime

Gazprom PJSC, the world’s largest natural gas supplier, is facing delays in payments through banks that are cautious in working with Russian companies, even though Gazprom itself isn’t on sanctions lists, an official at the company said.

"Many banks are behaving in an inadequate way," Alexander Ivannikov, the head of Gazprom’s financial department, said Thursday at the Eurasian Forum in Verona, Italy. "Payments may be left hanging for 10 to 15 days or more."
