Hungary’s ruling party Fidesz stabilized its support among voters as Prime Minister Viktor Orban clashed with European Union leaders on his efforts to stem the inflow of migrants to the bloc.
Backing for Fidesz increased to 31 percent in September from 30 percent in June and 27 percent in April, polling company Szazadveg said in an e-mailed statement on Thursday. Support for the radical Jobbik party dropped 2 percentage points in the last five months to 15 percent. Seventy-one percent of eligible voters want the cabinet to serve its entire term through 2018, compared with a quarter who would like a change of government, the poll showed.
