Ikea of Sweden AB temporarily closed a store in Poland and took Kottbullar meatballs and other hot food items off its menu to conserve energy as a heatwave forces the east European country to reduce electricity supplies.
The furniture retailer said it closed its store in Katowice, Poland, on Monday and will reopen it later on Tuesday. The country introduced restrictions for larger power users this week for the first time since the 1980s as hot weather hampers electricity production and transmission.
