Five Killed as Taliban Car Bomber Hits Main Afghan Airport

A suicide car bomber struck the entrance to the international airport in Afghanistan’s capital of Kabul, killing five and wounding 16 people.
The blast occurred around noon in a “very crowded area” where many Afghans were waiting in vehicles before a police checkpoint, Interior Ministry deputy spokesman Najib Danish said by phone. Children were among the casualties and 10 civilian vehicles were damaged, the ministry said in a statement.
