Consumer Comfort in U.S. Declines for Fifth Week on Finances

Consumer confidence declined for a fifth consecutive week as Americans grew less upbeat about their finances and whether it was a good time to shop.
The Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index eased to 40.3 in the period ended Aug. 2, the second-worst reading since November, from 40.5 the prior week.
