Burundian Opposition Leader Rwasa to Participate as Legislator

The runner-up in Burundi’s presidential elections said he will take part in the new government as a legislator to try and force change from within the system.

Agathon Rwasa withdrew as a candidate in presidential elections held last week after criticizing President Pierre Nkurunziza for running for a third term that opponents say exceeds a two-mandate limit spelled out in peace accords.
