EBay Inc. agreed to sell its enterprise unit to a private-equity-led group for $925 million and reported results that topped analysts’ estimates, days before the e-commerce company spins off its PayPal transactions business.
EBay reported gains in second-quarter sales and underlying earnings, and forecast revenue growth for its core online marketplace and the transactions business. The results cheered investors watching for signs of how the company’s new focus will fare.
