Jin Liqun, who worked at the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank on China’s behalf, is the nation’s pick to head the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
The nomination of 65-year-old Jin, who is currently secretary-general of the Multilateral Interim Secretariat for establishing the AIIB, was announced by the Ministry of Finance Monday. The AIIB is scheduled to start operating by the end of this year, after China obtained 26 percent voting power in the $100 billion multilateral lender.
