Tsipras Says Greece Needs 30% Debt Haircut for Sustainability

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said the nation’s debt will need to be cut by 30 percent, with a 20-year grace period for payment, in order to be sustainable, citing an International Monetary Fund report.
“This position was never proposed to the Greek government over the five months of negotiations, wasn’t included in final offer tabled by creditor institutions, on which people are going to vote on July 5,” he said on national television.
