Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc delayed the incoming Chairman Howard Davies’s appointment as a director while he completes a government study, which will decide which of London’s airports will be expanded.
Davies, 64, won’t join the board of Britain’s largest taxpayer owned lender at its annual general meeting in Edinburgh on Tuesday as had been planned, the bank said in a statement. RBS said Davies will still replace Philip Hampton as chairman on Sept. 1.
