Google Inc.’s YouTube unveiled a new application catering to fans of video games, seeking to woo users away from Amazon.com Inc.’s Twitch service.

YouTube Gaming will act as a video hub that highlights live streams of people playing games as they battle aliens or try to score in a virtual soccer game, the company said in a blog post Friday. More than 25,000 games will have their own dedicated pages, alongside channels from publishers and other content creators.
