The euro rose for a second week as Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras sent a delegation to Brussels with a revised set of proposals for Greece’s creditors.

The currency fell earlier Friday after German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the euro’s strength was making policy changes difficult for the region’s most-indebted nations. Tsipras faced a barrage of demands to get serious about making concessions or assume responsibility for a default. The dollar strengthened before the Federal Reserve meets next week to consider raising interest rates this year.
