Goldman Investment Banker Gupta’s Death Determined to Be Suicide

The April death of 22-year-old Goldman Sachs Group Inc. investment-banking analyst Sarvshreshth Gupta in San Francisco was determined to be a “suicide by jumping,” according to a police report.

Surveillance video showed an individual falling from an apartment building into a parking lot about 4:20 a.m. on April 16, according to an incident report released Tuesday by police.

News reports last week on Gupta’s death reignited a debate on Wall Street about whether banks are doing enough to ease grueling demands on their youngest workers.
