Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras should hold a referendum on euro membership as he struggles to reconcile creditors’ demands for austerity with discontent in his own party, according to Christopher Pissarides.

“That would be the best outcome,” the Nobel Prize-winning economist said in a Bloomberg Television interview in London on Thursday, adding it should give Greeks a “clear choice.”
