MERS Virus Kills 2 in South Korea as Infections Rise to 25

South Korea reported its first deaths from Middle East respiratory syndrome and said there are now two cases of the virus spreading to people who had no contact with the patient considered the source of the local outbreak.
The so-called tertiary infections may result in “significantly” more people quarantined, a health ministry official said at televised briefing Tuesday. About 690 people have already been told to stay at home, while about 100 are in isolation at government-designated hospitals.
