Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd. is opening Macau’s first projects in three years with a concert from Chinese singer Alan Tam, as the casino operator tries to broaden its appeal beyond hardcore gamblers to families and tourists.
Tickets for this weekend’s show by 64-year-old Tam, a pioneer of Cantonese pop music with a career spanning from the 1970s, sold out at least a month in advance at the 3,000-seat Broadway Theatre in its revamped casino-hotel. The hall is part of two adjoining properties -- Galaxy Macau’s expansion and Broadway Macau -- that open today.
