Danish Government Raises GDP Forecast as Election Moves Closer

Denmark’s government raised its forecast for economic growth and pledged billions of kroner in additional welfare spending amid speculation an election may be called as early as this week.

Gross domestic product will expand 1.7 percent in 2015, compared with a December estimate for 1.4 percent, according to a report obtained from the economy ministry on Tuesday. It kept its 2 percent estimate for 2016.
