Tepco, Mitsubishi to Build Water, Power Plant in Qatar

Tokyo Electric Power Co. and Mitsubishi Corp. won a tender to build and run a 2,400 megawatt power station and a water desalination plant in Qatar.

The companies agreed with Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp., also known as Kahramaa, on a 25-year power and water-purchase agreement, Tokyo Electric and Mitsubishi said in a joint statement. The desalination plant will have a capacity of 590,000 cubic meters per day.
