ABN Amro IPO by Dutch State to Go Ahead as Soon as This Year

The Dutch government is proceeding with plans to sell shares in ABN Amro Group NV as soon as this year, helping to recoup the state’s bailout in what may be the country’s biggest initial public offering.

“The commercial and financial performance of the bank are good,” Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem wrote in a letter to parliament Friday. “With that in consideration, the cabinet has decided to initiate the sale process.”
