Conservative Party lawmaker Zac Goldsmith said he’ll quit Parliament if the government approves construction of a third runway at London’s Heathrow Airport.
“If my party gives a green light for expansion, then I have to trigger a by-election,” Goldsmith said on the BBC’s “Daily Politics” program Wednesday. He said approval by Prime Minister David Cameron’s Conservative administration “would cause splits at the very highest level of government.”
