Las Vegas sports books are taking down odds for the New England Patriots’ season-opening game on speculation that quarterback Tom Brady could be suspended for his role in the NFL team’s use of underinflated footballs.

New England was a 6.5-point favorite against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first game of the National Football League regular season. Las Vegas sports book William Hill Plc took that game off the board, as well as its American Football Conference East division odds, where the Patriots were 2-5 favorites.
