Cohen, Solow Among Sellers as $2.3 Billion Art at Auction
It took more than a dozen people to install Alberto Giacometti’s 5-foot-10-inch tall sculpture on a pedestal at Christie’s in New York last week.
The reason for the delicate operation: The bronze of a pointing man is valued at $130 million, a price that could shatter the auction record for a sculpture. The work is among the top lots at semi-annual auctions of Impressionist, modern, postwar and contemporary art that start Tuesday.
