Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA, Spain’s second-largest bank, named its digital head Carlos Torres as chief operating officer with immediate effect, replacing Angel Cano in a reorganization of the bank.
Cano, 53, is stepping down as part of the restructuring, the Bilbao-based lender said in a regulatory filing on Monday. BBVA also said it formed a new division to be known as country networks, which will be run by Vicente Rodero and oversee operations across the nations in which the bank is present.
