EU Deal Reviews May Weigh Value of Personal Data, Vestager Says

Companies’ leverage over personal data may be examined by European Union merger regulators in the future, the EU’s antitrust commissioner said.

Margrethe Vestager said she’s studying the U.S.’s “stringent approach to dealing with personal data as a means to payment” in its review of deals.
