Iron Ore Monorail Seen as Savior to ‘Rocks in the Head’

In the new era of tumbling iron ore prices, producers considering the startup of export mines may have rocks in their head, by some reckonings, or a monorail.

In China, a 3.7 kilometer-long (2.3 mile) test track is being built by Beijing-based CSR Corporation Ltd. for the world’s first driverless iron ore monorail system, designed to transport the mineral about 10 meters above the hostile Australian outback.
