David Cameron was interrupted by hecklers during his first public appearance since he said he wouldn’t seek a third term as prime minister, as he appealed to voters to back his “team” to lead Britain.

Speaking at an event for retirees in London on Tuesday, Cameron battled against whistling hearing aids and grumbling from his audience as he made the case for his Conservative Party to continue to run the country after the election on May 7. Some said he was being presumptuous, others said it would make no difference to their vote; none said his announcement made it more likely they would vote for him.
