Last Mile of Ebola Eradication Is Seen as the Most Difficult

One year after Ebola was declared an epidemic in West Africa, significant progress has been made to eradicate the disease. The last steps are more difficult, according to the United Nations special envoy for the outbreak.
“This is one area where you have to be painstaking up until the end,” David Nabarro, who was appointed to the Ebola post last year, said in a phone interview. “The last mile will absolutely be the hardest.”
