AutoCanada Inc., one of the country’s largest auto dealerships, plans to use the pain in the oil patch to pick up new business.

Shares in the operator of 48 dealerships in Canada tumbled the most in six years Friday after the company said vehicle sales were “significantly lower” than forecast as oil’s slump cuts jobs and confidence in its home base Alberta.
