SeaWorld Names Dollywood Boss Manby CEO Amid Activist Tussle

SeaWorld Entertainment Inc., the theme-park operator battling animal activists who have hurt attendance, named Joel Manby president and chief executive officer, effective April 7.

Manby, 55, most recently served as president and CEO of Herschend Enterprises, a family-owned company that manages Dolly Parton’s Dollywood theme park and the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team. David D’Alessandro, who has served as SeaWorld’s interim CEO, will remain chairman, the company said in a statementBloomberg Terminal Thursday.
