Russian Espionage on the Rise Is Biggest Threat, Sweden Says

Russia has increased espionage in Sweden, seeking to purchase weapons and recruit agents, the nation’s Security Service said.

Russian agents, often under diplomatic cover, collect information on Swedish defense, politics, economy, science and political refugees, the Security Service said in an annual assessment. The activities have ratcheted up amid the crisis in Ukraine, the service said.
