Payrolls rose in 39 states in January and the unemployment rate fell in 24 as the U.S. labor market continued its acceleration.
California led the nation with a 67,300 increase in employment, followed by a 25,100 advance in Ohio, figures from the Labor Department showed Tuesday in Washington.
