Greek consumer prices fell less than economists forecast in February as a drop in transport and housing costs eased and food and beverages became more expensive.
The consumer price index, calculated using a harmonized European Union method, fell 1.9 percent from a year earlier, compared with a 2.8 percent drop in January, the Hellenic Statistical Authority in Athens said on Tuesday. The median estimate of six economists in a Bloomberg News survey was for a drop of 2.8 percent. Using a national measurement method, the inflation rate was minus 2.2 percent.
