New York City and its police officers won dismissal of lawsuit challenging the arrests of more than 700 Occupy Wall Street demonstrators as an appeals court reconsidered and reversed its earlier ruling.

The protesters were part of a group of thousands of demonstrators who marched from Zuccotti Park near Wall Street to the Brooklyn Bridge to support the Occupy movement on Oct. 1, 2011. Marchers said they were wrongly arrested near the bridge’s entrance when police routed thousands of them onto the roadway.
